Snowden's father has received a visa to visit his son in Russia.

On August 11, Bruce Fein, the lawyer for the family of former US intelligence employee Edward Snowden, who is currently wanted, announced that he and Snowden's father, Lon Snowden, had received visas to enter Russia to visit Snowden.

Snowden and his son may soon be reunited in Russia.

However, lawyer Fein did not specify when the visit would take place.

In an interview on ABC's "This Week" program, lawyer Fein stated: "We have obtained Russian entry visas. We have prepared a departure date, but we will not discuss it for reasons of sensitivity."
