Iron Man suit can fly 320 km/h
A British inventor has created an Iron Man-style flying suit that can reach a top speed of 320 km/h.
Inventor and businessman Richard Browning created the machine with six mini jet engines and a specially designed exoskeleton, Independent reported on March 31.
The suit, called Daedalus, can take off and land vertically and fly, using the human body to control its speed. According to Browning, it can reach speeds of 320 km/h and travel at altitudes of more than 600 m.
Currently, the suit allows the user to fly continuously for about 10 minutes, but that depends on how the thrusters are manipulated. "I think it's a lot less dangerous than driving a sports bike around the countryside. It's not as dangerous as it looks," Browning said.
It took Browning 13 months to perfect the product, since purchasing the first mini-jet engine in February 2016. Browning hopes to bring the suit to market by the end of this summer.
Browning said some people have compared the suit to the fictional superhero Tony Stark. "But this is a real achievement for the aerospace industry. We're focused on building a technology that can change the world," Browning said.
