On the evening of October 1, a house fire broke out in Phia Kham 1 village, Bac Ly commune, leaving two people seriously injured. 20 soldiers from My Ly Border Guard Station were present to put out the fire and provide first aid to the people.

The fire broke out at the home of Ms. Luong Me Chuan, Phia Kham 1 village, Bac Ly commune, Ky Son district, causing Ms. Chuan to suffer burns all over her body and her son, born in 1985, to about 50% of his body.

According to the soldiers of My Ly Border Guard Station, the cause of the fire was that when it was dark, Mrs. Luong Me Chuan took oil to pour into a lamp to light it but mistakenly took a can of gasoline. When pouring it into the hot lamp, the fire flared up, causing Mrs. Chuan to have severe burns all over her body. Mrs. Chuan's son who ran downstairs to save his mother was also severely burned.

The fire completely burned down the house of Ms. Luong Me Chuan's family.

Upon receiving the news, 20 soldiers from My Ly Border Guard Station rushed to the scene to put out the fire and rescue the victims. However, due to the steep mountainous terrain and lack of water, the fire could not be controlled. The main house on stilts of Ms. Chuan's family was completely burned down. The estimated damage was about 50 million VND.

Military medics gave first aid to Mrs. Chuan and her child and quickly transferred the patient to Ky Son District General Hospital for treatment.

After transferring the victim to the higher level, soldiers from My Ly Border Guard Station visited, encouraged and supported the victim’s family with some initial treatment costs. At the same time, they propagated and instructed the people of Phia Kham 1 village on fire prevention measures.
