Ministry of Education and Training established a working group to review national high school exam scores in Hoa Binh
On July 22, Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha - Head of the National High School Exam Steering Committee - signed a decision to establish a working group to inspect and verify unusual signs in the 2018 National High School Exam results in Hoa Binh.
The working group is responsible for assisting the Minister in directing the inspection and verification of unusual signs in exam results at the Examination Council of the Department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh in the 2018 National High School Exam.
Previously, suspicions of unusual test scores in Hoa Binh were raised when the number of candidates who scored 9 or higher in Math was 27, accounting for 4.7% of the country. Meanwhile, with the 2017 Math test, which was considered much easier, the whole province only had 100 students who scored 9 or higher, accounting for 0.46% of the country.

If considering the exam scores by main block (A00, A01, B00, C00, C03, D01), out of 324 candidates nationwide with a total score of 27, Ha Giang has 67, Son La 26, and Hoa Binh 22.
In group C03 (Math, Literature, History), the whole country has 10 candidates with 27 points or more, Hoa Binh has 2 candidates.
Previously, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Binh province also issued a document assigning Director of the Department of Education and Training Bui Trong Dac to be in charge of this work.
Provincial leaders said that the high school exam scores in Hoa Binh were accurate and objective, without any interference in the candidates' test results. If necessary, the Ministry of Education and Training can go to Hoa Binh to review and evaluate.
Thus, after Ha Giang, Son La and Lang Son, Hoa Binh is the fourth province where the Ministry of Education and Training has established a working group to review exam scores.
