The Ministry of Education will announce sample questions for the national high school exam.
Deputy Minister Bui Van Ga said that the Ministry will soon announce a sample exam, which is basically not much different from 2015, including 60% basic knowledge and 40% advanced knowledge.
The Ministry of Education and Training said that the sample test was introduced to help candidates visualize how the test was created, thereby helping them feel secure in their review. The test content is based on the high school curriculum, mainly grade 12, and ensures that candidates' levels are classified, meeting basic requirements (for high school graduation) and advanced requirements (for university and college admission). Basic knowledge accounts for about 60% and advanced knowledge accounts for about 40% of the test.
The exam will be designed to assess students' abilities, increase open questions, questions related to practice and application questions, ensure differentiation, meet the requirements for high school graduation recognition and serve as a basis for university and college admissions.

In the second year of organizing the exam with two purposes, the Ministry maintained the organization of exams for 8 subjects, including Math, Literature, History, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Foreign Language. Math, Literature, History, Geography are tested in essay form, with a time limit of 180 minutes for each subject; Physics, Chemistry, Biology are tested in multiple-choice form, with a time limit of 90 minutes for each subject. Foreign Language is tested in written and multiple-choice form, with a time limit of 90 minutes.
The Ministry of Education is also receiving comments and considering the decision on the priority point policy. However, the leader of the Department of Testing and Education Quality Assessment said that basically, the priority policy for regions and subjects remains stable as in 2015.
"It is impossible not to give extra points to students in remote areas, ethnic minorities, and children of people who have contributed to the revolution. Only when we go to the highlands can we know how deprived the conditions are there. Giving extra points is necessary to ensure fairness among the subjects. Of course, when building the regulations, we also base them on many factors, such as enrollment data in recent years and the proposal of the Ethnic Committee," he said.
