Ministry of Transport responds to Nghe An voters' petition on upgrading National Highway 7

(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An voters proposed to maintain, repair and upgrade National Highway 7 because many sections have seriously degraded, affecting traffic.

Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Transport has Official Dispatch No. 8298 dated August 12, 2022 responding as follows:

The Ministry of Transport agrees with the voters' recommendations on the maintenance, repair and upgrading of National Highway 7 mentioned above. In recent times, although the state budget is still limited, the year2021 The Ministry of Transport has assigned the Vietnam Road Administration (VRA) to implement the National Highway Upgrading Project.7, section Km2 - Km36 and handling landslides caused by storms and floods in the section Khe Thoi (Con Cuong) - Nam Can (Ky Son).

Up to now, the Vietnam Road Administration is implementing the selection of construction contractors and is expected to start construction in the third quarter of this year.2022, completed in the fourth quarter of the year2024.

Regarding the repair of damaged sections of National Highway 7: In 2022The Ministry of Transport has allocated VND54.5 billion (6 projects) for repairs. These projects are expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2022.

At the same time, the Ministry of Transport has assigned the Vietnam Road Administration to prepare investment in 03 repair projects with a total cost of 33 million USD.tVND 100 billion to start construction in 2023.

Taking note of voters' opinions, in the coming years, the Ministry of Transport will pay attention to allocating the annual road maintenance budget to promptly repair and overcome the damage and degradation of National Highway 7 to ensure safety for vehicles traveling on the route.
