Ministry of Transport speaks out about proposal to remove simulated driving license test
Voters petitioned to remove the simulated driving test due to inadequacies. The Ministry of Transport (MOT) officially spoke out on this issue.

Voters in Long Thanh district, Dong Nai province, reported that the driving license test must be simulated using software provided by the Vietnam Road Administration and applied to the teaching and learning program for driving cars of classes B1, B2, C, D, E, F... is inappropriate, does not accurately assess the reality of driving on the road, causing confusion for test takers and wasting people's time and money.
Voters petition the Ministry of Transport to abolish the organization of simulation tests for car driving licenses.
Responding to this issue, on January 26, the Ministry of Transport stated that the software simulating traffic situations is implemented in accordance with the provisions of Decree No. 138/2018/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 65/2016/ND-CP dated July 1, 2016 of the Government regulating the conditions for business of car driver training and driving testing services; Circular No. 38/2019/TTBGTVT dated September 8, 2019, Circular No. 01/2021/TT-BGTVT dated January 27, 2021 of the Ministry of Transport regulating the training, testing, and granting of road motor vehicle driving licenses.

The Ministry of Transport confirmed that currently, the rate of students meeting the requirements of the driving test content on the software simulating traffic situations is over 80%.
In response to voters' comments, the Ministry of Transport will assign the Vietnam Road Administration to preside over and coordinate with units to develop software to adjust and update some situations suitable for reality, and adjust the recognition time so that learners can easily absorb and handle them.
