Russian Foreign Ministry: Terrorists produce chemical weapons in Syria
Terrorists have sought opportunities to produce chemical weapons in Syria, in addition to receiving material and technical support from abroad, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov said.

"During the years of hostilities in Syria and neighboring Iraq, information appeared that militants had scientific and technical documentation for the production of chemical weapons (for example, documents in a specialized library in the Iraqi city of Mosul), they also seized chemical enterprises with appropriate equipment, and attracted military and civilian chemical specialists to carry out chemical synthesis work," Syromolotov said.
At the same time, according to him, "of course there is certain material support and technical equipment from abroad".
The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister said he did not want to manipulate information "about the possibility that some individuals or companies from Western countries were supplying chemicals to Syrian rebels."
"I would just like to point out that Western countries do not openly hide their close contacts with the White Helmets. In fact, these countries openly finance the sabotage activities of non-governmental organizations, providing logistical, technical and other support," Syromolotov said.
