Although the date and location of the unprecedented summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un have yet to be set, the search for a venue for the meeting has begun.
According to Reuters news agency, the Vietnamese capital is among a handful of cities in Asia, along with Beijing and Singapore, considered potential locations for this historic meeting.
“Hanoi is an ideal choice for the US and North Korea to consider the next steps in making the summit a significant step forward,” said a professor at the University of Singapore.
Previously, on March 8, the US government announced President Trump's decision to accept North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's invitation to meet to negotiate on the country's nuclear program. But so far, North Korea has not made any confirmation about the summit./.
