"You know our concerns about Iran and trade with Iran. And we will continue to prosecute countries for any violations of sanctions against Iran," Ms. Nauert said at a press conference.
Earlier, on August 13, Mr. Al-Abadi said that Baghdad was observing partial sanctions against Iran. Iraq does not use the dollar when transacting with Tehran.
The Central Bank of Iraq has notified commercial banks of a ban on dollar transactions with Iranian lenders due to US sanctions.
