"France remains involved in the common struggle (against terrorism) and does not envisage a new operation in northern Syria, outside the international coalition fighting against IS*," - the French Foreign Ministry noted.

On March 29, French President Emmanuel Macron met with the delegation of the "Syrian Democratic Forces" (SDF) and announced Paris' support for this force, specifically in stabilizing the situation in the northeast of the country. As stated in the press release of the Elysee Palace, Mr. Macron expressed his hope for the opportunity to establish a dialogue between Türkiye and the "Syrian Democratic Forces" with the cooperation of France and the world community.

On March 30, Turkish President Ibrahim Kalyn's representative announced that Türkiye does not accept French President Emmanuel Macron's proposal for dialogue with the "Syrian Democratic Forces" (SDF) nor does it accept the possibility of France acting as a mediator.

Also on March 30, following French President Emmanuel Macron's statement on dialogue and mediation, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdağ commented that Ankara saw that Paris actually supported terrorism.
