Previously, the Ukrainian authorities have repeatedly promised not to allow federalization in their country.
“Ukraine as a state, mediator, Ukraine is interested in stable, democratic Moldova, Ukraine is ready to support Kishinev” - the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also called on Moldova's leading political forces to act within the legal framework and resolve disputes through political dialogue to avoid violent confrontation.
Moldova's pro-Russian Socialist Party and pro-European bloc ACUM won a parliamentary majority in February 2019 elections. After three months of waiting, Moldova has a new government. However, the Constitutional Court has not recognized the results.
In response, parliament declared that the Democratic Party was usurping power through judges. Moldovan President Igor Dodon called the Constitutional Court's decision to remove him a desperate move to seize power.
