"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expresses its strong protest in connection with the recent visit of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine - the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, on August 10, 2019," according to a statement posted on the ministry's website.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said the Russian president's trip to Crimea was "a gross violation by Russia of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country."

On August 10, the Russian head of state attended an international motorcycle show in Sevastopol, organized by the “Nochnye Volki” (Night Wolves) motorcycle club.

He arrived at the event on a motorcycle “Ural” together with the head of Crimea Sergei Aksenov, and the Governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev.
