Praying mantis and mulberry leaves are used in medicine.
When people think of praying mantises, they usually only mention their ferocity, as they are "killers" that kill their mates after mating... But the praying mantis itself can be used as medicine.
The praying mantis, also known as the sky horse mantis, has the scientific name Mantis religiosa Linnaeus and belongs to the Mantidae family. In traditional Chinese medicine, it is called Đường lang.
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, praying mantis has a sweet and salty taste, a warm nature, and is used to nourish the kidneys, strengthen the essence, detoxify, and calm the nerves. It is commonly used to treat urinary incontinence, frequent urination, nocturnal emissions, impotence, leukorrhea, sore throat, hemorrhoids, ulcers, epilepsy, etc.
People usually catch live praying mantises, remove their heads, wings, legs, and intestines, then roast them until cooked, grind them into a powder, and store it in a sealed jar for later use.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, praying mantises are rarely used as medicine, but the mantis nest they build on mulberry trees, called "tang phieu tieu," is a commonly used remedy for urinary disorders such as frequent urination (diuria), nocturia (nocturia), and seminal emission (spermatorrhea).
Tang Phiêu Tiêu has a sweet and salty taste, and a neutral nature; it enters the Liver and Kidney meridians. It has the effect of tonifying the kidneys, consolidating essence, and controlling urination. It is commonly used to treat nocturnal emissions, spermatorrhea, premature ejaculation, frequent urination, urinary incontinence, amenorrhea, and lower back pain.
Take the nest from the mulberry branch, cook it until done, then roast it before consuming (otherwise it will cause diarrhea). Find the nest from the mulberry branch, soak it in soy sauce that has been boiled seven times, then cook until dry; any other method will not be effective.
