Mr. Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan was appointed to hold the position of Director of the Department of Competition and Consumer Protection.

Specifically, in Decision 1556, the Prime Minister appointed Mr. Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, in charge of the Department of Competition and Consumer Protection, to hold the position of Director of the Department of Competition and Consumer Protection under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Department is an agency established by the Government within the organizational system of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The department's operating criteria are to create and maintain a healthy competitive environment with equal business opportunities for all enterprises in the market.

The Department is responsible for investigating cases related to acts that reduce, distort and hinder competition in the market. Specifically, the Department is responsible for organizing investigations into anti-competitive agreements, acts of abusing market power and effectively controlling economic concentration activities. After completing the investigation, the Department will transfer the investigation report and recommendations to the Competition Council or competent authorities for consideration and handling of the case.

Restrict and eliminate unfair competition behaviors such as misleading instructions, infringement of trade secrets, defamation or disruption of other businesses' business operations, advertising and promotions aimed at unfair competition, illegal multi-level marketing, etc. to ensure the rights of businesses and consumers.
