Appointing abbot and casting the great bell of Hong Phuc pagoda
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 16, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Nghe An province held a ceremony to announce the decision to appoint the abbot of Hong Phuc Pagoda (Nghi Long commune, Nghi Loc district) and a ceremony to bless and cast the great bell.
Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province, leaders of departments, branches, organizations of Nghe An province, Nghi Loc district and a large number of monks, nuns and Buddhists inside and outside the province.
Hong Phuc Pagoda is an ancient pagoda that has existed for a long time. However, through the ups and downs of history and the devastation of war, the pagoda has been damaged, degraded and lost some valuable artifacts. Currently, the pagoda only has the foundation and objects as evidence of an ancient pagoda.
To meet the spiritual and religious needs of the people and restore the original value of Hong Phuc Pagoda, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 129/QD-UBND-NC dated January 10, 2013 on approving the restoration of Hong Phuc Pagoda Buddhist facilities.
