It is known that, related to the case, Vi Van Toan (38 years old) also sent a petition to the People's Court of Dien Bien province asking for a reduction in his sentence after being sentenced to death.
Bui Van Cong (44 years old), Vuong Van Hung (35 years old), and Pham Van Nhiem (47 years old) also appealed for their innocence.

Vi Van Toan: Death penalty for murder, 13 years in prison for kidnapping with the aim of appropriating property. Total sentence is death penalty.
Bui Van Cong: Death penalty for murder, 14 years in prison for rape, 13 years in prison for kidnapping for the purpose of appropriating property, 24 months in prison for drug possession. Total sentence is death penalty.
Vuong Van Hung: Death penalty for murder, 10 years in prison for rape, 12 years in prison for kidnapping with the intent to appropriate property. Total sentence is death penalty.
Pham Van Nhiem: Death penalty for murder, 12 years in prison for rape, 11 years in prison for kidnapping with the intent to appropriate property. Total sentence is death penalty.
Luong Van Hung: Death penalty for murder, 13 years in prison for rape, 12 years in prison for kidnapping with the intent to appropriate property. Total sentence is death penalty.
Luong Van La: Death penalty for Murder, 12 years in prison for Rape, 11 years in prison for Kidnapping with the intent to appropriate property. Total sentence is death penalty.
Pham Van Dung: 10 years in prison for rape.
Cam Van Chuong: 9 years in prison for rape.
Bui Thi Kim Thu: 3 years in prison for failure to report a crime.
