Vote to choose adoptive parents for abandoned 2-month-old baby

On the afternoon of September 27, after more than 20 days of waiting without any relatives coming to claim the child, the People's Committee of Thanh Huong Commune, Thanh Chuong District (Nghe An) held a meeting with all departments, branches, and organizations in the commune and representatives of families who had submitted adoption applications for the abandoned child in the commune.
Based on the specific conditions of the 8 families who submitted their applications and voted, the family of Mr. Pham Dinh Thuc (teacher) and Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan (pharmacist) in Hamlet 4, Thanh Huong Commune were approved to adopt the child with 2/3 of the votes in favor. The adoption documents were completed, but the handover of the child between the temporary caregiver and the person who would be adopting the child did not officially take place until the morning of September 28.

As reported by Nghe An Newspaper, at 7pm on September 6, a woman named Dang in Hamlet 7, Thanh Huong Commune discovered an abandoned baby near a three-way intersection, along with a basket of clothes, milk and a letter. The woman called everyone to come and take the baby to her house. The incident was then reported to the People's Committee of Thanh Huong Commune.
Upon receiving the news, Thanh Huong commune mobilized police and women to go to the scene to make a record and take the baby to the commune health station for care. The baby girl weighed 4.8 kg and was about 2 months old. In the letter left with the baby, it was stated that the person who gave birth was far away and that due to circumstances she could not raise the baby, she wanted someone to help raise the baby and promised not to come back to look for the baby.

While waiting for relatives to come and claim the baby, the baby was taken care of and raised by Mr. Nguyen Viet Binh and his wife - a judicial officer of the commune. Recently, 8 sets of documents from infertile families inside and outside the commune have been sent to the People's Committee of Thanh Huong commune to adopt the baby.
