During the preparation for changing the ceremonial uniform in the Vietnam People's Army, 30 border guards on duty guarding the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap were honored and proud to be the first to wear the newest uniform.

Since the day General Vo Nguyen Giap passed away in Vung Chua - Yen Island, 30 officers and soldiers of the Quang Binh Provincial Border Guard have been honored to be assigned the task of guarding his sleep.

Faced with that sacred and noble mission, the Quartermaster Department - General Department of Logistics assigned X20 Joint Stock Company under the General Department of Logistics to produce 30 sets of Border Guard ceremonial uniforms for 30 officers and soldiers on duty guarding the General's tomb.
Immediately after that, X20 Company immediately started coordinating with the Quang Binh Provincial Border Guard to take measurements of 30 officers and soldiers on duty to produce military uniforms.
Because the Border Guard ceremonial uniform is a new item, produced for the first time, during the production process, the factory always seeks direct opinions from the Quartermaster Department to ensure that it meets technical requirements and is suitable for the force performing special tasks.

After much effort, 30 sets of special military uniforms were finally completed. In early November 2013, they were delivered to the soldiers on duty, along with other equipment such as hats, victory ribbons, medals, belts, gun holsters, etc.
Lieutenant Colonel Le Xuan Hoa, Deputy Chief of Operations at Roon Border Guard Station, Commander of the team protecting General Vo Nguyen Giap's tomb, said the unit received 30 sets of military uniforms on November 1, 2013.
"Those are beautiful, solemn, suitable and convenient military uniforms for the special missions of the soldiers" - Lieutenant Colonel Hoa said.
Proud to sleep General
Lieutenant Colonel Hoa also expressed his honor and pride at being trusted by the Party, the State, and the General's family with the sacred task of guarding his sleep.
“On rainy and windy days, it is very normal for soldiers’ uniforms to get wet. However, no one complains and still completes their tasks well,” Lieutenant Colonel Hoa confided.
In the next few days, 30 soldiers on duty protecting the General's tomb will receive a new set of military uniforms to change into while on duty.
Lieutenant Colonel Hoa also added that the 30 military uniforms that the unit has received are the latest ceremonial uniforms, according to the new design.
Deputy Chief of Staff of the Quang Binh Provincial Border Guard Command, Lieutenant Colonel Trinh Thanh Binh, added that the Ministry of National Defense recently had a policy to replace the uniforms in military branches such as Border Guard, Air Force, Navy, and Army.
About 3 weeks ago, the Border Guard force also had new uniforms according to policy.
Then, at the proposal of the Border Guard Command, the Ministry of National Defense agreed to make the team protecting the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap the first soldiers to wear the newest ceremonial uniforms in the military force.
In his new ceremonial uniform, Senior Lieutenant Cao Van Chinh, who is guarding the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap, emotionally said: “I am very honored and proud to be assigned the task of guarding the General’s sleep. Therefore, I always try my best to fulfill this noble and sacred task.”
