Ministry of Defense proposes to correct errors in Vietnamese version of "Descendants of the Sun"
The Director of the Propaganda Department commented that the Korean remake film has many details that are not close to the real life of the Vietnamese army.

Major General Nguyen Van Duc - Director of the Propaganda Department - said: "Recently, the film has caused many different opinions, especially the etiquette and manners of some soldiers in the film are different from the military's regulations. The image of soldiers in the film is not close to the real life of the army." The Director has asked VTC - the station broadcasting the film - to consult and correct the above errors before broadcasting the next episodes.

"We do not introduce which military unit the film crew filmed at. All the scenes in the film were built somewhere," he said. After more than ten episodes,Descendants of the SunThe Vietnamese version has been criticized for its portrayal of Vietnamese soldiers. Many readers believe that the military ranks, uniforms, and salutes of the soldiers in the film are not like real soldiers. In episode 10, the scene where a group of private bodyguards enter a hospital room and point guns at Vietnamese doctors and soldiers is considered overly dramatic. Previously, the producers said they had consulted Chu Lai - a writer with a military background - to portray the image of Vietnamese soldiers.
Descendants of the SunThe Vietnamese version is directed by Tran Buu Loc and produced by Nguyen Phan Quang Binh, and is expected to have 48 episodes. This is a remake of the 2016 Korean hit film of the same name, starring Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo. The story revolves around the love story of Captain Duy Kien (played by Song Luan) and female doctor Hoai Phuong (played by Kha Ngan). The filming and release of the Vietnamese version are carried out in parallel, similar to the model of Korean series.
