(Baonghean.vn) - Under the chairmanship of Major General Nguyen Tan Cuong - Member of the Central Committee of the Party - Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Military Region 4, this morning (July 17), the General Staff of Military Region 4 held a military-political conference to deploy tasks for the last six months of 2014.

In carrying out its tasks for the last six months of 2014, the Military Region Staff continued to improve the quality of its advisory and leadership work in military and national defense tasks, creating a solid transformation in combat readiness. The focus was on continuing close coordination among forces to monitor, forecast, understand, and assess the situation promptly, preventing any passive or unexpected events; advising and directing the organization of provincial and district-level defense zone exercises in Quang Binh province, and flood and storm prevention and search and rescue exercises in Cam Xuyen district (Ha Tinh) and Hai Lang district (Quang Tri), achieving good results and ensuring safety.

At the conference, on behalf of the President, Major General Nguyen Tan Cuong presented the Third-Class Order of National Defense to the Military Training Department of the school under the General Staff for its outstanding achievements in training, combat service, building the People's Army, and strengthening national defense from 2008 to 2012, contributing to the building of socialism and the protection of the Fatherland.
