The General Staff of the Ministry of National Defense offered incense and flowers to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the Truông Bồn Historical Site.

On July 16th, to commemorate the 78th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025), a delegation from the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, led by Lieutenant General Pham Truong Son - Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, offered incense and flowers in remembrance at the Truong Bon historical site.

The delegation included Major General Hoang Duy Chien – Deputy Commander of Military Region 4; Mr. Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and Colonel Hoang Dinh Luan – Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command.

At the Truông Bồn historical site, after laying flowers and offering incense at the common grave of 13 heroic young volunteer martyrs, Lieutenant General Phạm Trường Sơn - Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army - and the delegation laid flowers and offered incense at the Memorial House for 1,240 heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives on the legendary Truông Bồn road, recalling a glorious period of history associated with the heroic sacrifices of these martyrs.

Along Route 15A through Truong Bon, 1,240 cadres, soldiers, and volunteer youth sacrificed their lives to protect the route. Particularly noteworthy are the heroic achievements and sacrifices of the 13 soldiers of the "Steel Squad," the "Suicide Squad" of Volunteer Youth Company 317, on October 31, 1968, while on duty.

Offering incense and flowers at the Truông Bồn Historical Site, Lieutenant General Phạm Trường Sơn - Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, along with the delegation, expressed their profound respect and boundless gratitude for the heroic sacrifices of the martyrs for the cause of national liberation and reunification.

The delegation pledged to continue striving, uniting as one to excellently fulfill their duties, firmly protect the independence and sovereignty of the Fatherland, and build a country that is increasingly prosperous, strong, and civilized.
