Minister of Education and Training: The more interested in learning, the more success you will achieve!
That was the sharing of Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son at the International Conference "Happiness in Education". The conference was organized by the Institute for Education Research and Human Resources Development (EDI) and accompanied by the TH School system and TH Group.
Nghe An Newspaper would like to republish the entire speech of Minister Nguyen Kim Son at the conference.
I am very interested and appreciate the initiative of the organizers to organize this workshop, with the theme: “Happiness in Education”. This way of posing the issue is broader, more comprehensive and deeper than the way of posing the issue of developing thehappy school, although happy schools are an important part of happiness in education.

Of course, if we put the issue broadly, we need to discuss both aspects: Education for happiness and happiness in education, that is, how education guides learners to happiness, achieve happiness and recognize happiness right in the heart of education.
The theme of this conference is also very meaningful when Vietnam's education is undergoing strong changes, the focus of which is to realize the goal of comprehensive human development, helping people to know how to live happily, create happiness for themselves and for those involved. A community of happy people can only be created by a happy education. This is also the major orientation that the Ministry of Education and Training is directing to implement throughout the industry with different levels and methods at different levels and subjects.

Nowadays, there have been many discussions about the goals, characteristics, methods, components, stakeholders of education and of education towards the happiness of learners, teachers, parents and anyone involved.
However, participating in today's conference, with this topic, I just want to express and emphasize one aspect, one aspect that I think is an important factor of happy education and the happiness of education.
What I want to talk about here is the internal factor, the proactive factor of the learner, which is also the core and decisive factor of happiness in education.
That is the subject of the learner knowing how to create and feel, recognize happiness in the learning process.
If one realizes the joy and happiness of learning in the process, he will be able to do great things.

We all know that happiness is a psychological, emotional, and spiritual state of a person, when people feel comfortable, satisfied, happy, and sublime. According to the traditional way of speaking of Eastern culture, it is a state of pleasure, joy, harmony, or joy, most simply put, happiness, joy. Happiness is formed and enjoyed through personal feelings, it is personal, individual, and separate.
There is a common happiness of a group, a community, but it is contributed by individuals and felt by individuals. So how can learners reach a state and feel happiness in the process of participating in the educational process, as a subject, by themselves and by themselves? Talking about learners, of course we need to mention learners and learning. The happiness I am referring to is only the happiness of learning, that is, the joy of learning, the joy of learning, the joy of learning, learning is fun, the more you learn the more fun, the more progress the more spiritual pleasure.

There is only one happiness, there are not many types of happiness, but happiness has many levels, many shades, many expressions. There is the small happiness that passes in a moment, there is the happiness of sublimated emotions, there is the vast, deep happiness hidden in the human spiritual life when people find satisfaction that meets both intelligence and emotion, both reason and emotion.
For learners, we need to discuss here how to help students have a lot of joy in the learning process. The greater, more lasting and profound the joy and interest, the more successful their learning will be and the more good results they will achieve. I will briefly mention here a few factors that help form happy states for learners in educational activities.
First: The more ambitious, aspirational and determined a learner is, the more potential happiness he or she will have, and the greater happiness he or she will have when he or she achieves it.
The scale and size of happiness depend on the level of satisfaction of expectations. Therefore, in order for learners to achieve much joy and happiness in learning, it is necessary to help learners set the right learning goals, big, deep, wide... to have an internal motivation to strive and achieve happiness. The bigger the ambition, the easier it is to overcome failures, the smaller the hardships become, the less obstacles can be prevented, and the path to happiness is therefore wider. Short ambitions are easy to satisfy, insufficient ambitions are easy to give up halfway, unable to reach the final joy of completion. Short ambitions also have easy-to-achieve joy, but easy-to-achieve things are never deep and lasting, and if life is a collection of easy-to-achieve things and easy joys, it is difficult to have great careers.

Second: Students know how to cultivate and train themselves, which is the root of comprehensive learning and development, and the root of achieving happiness. People who know how to cultivate themselves according to standards will have a correct perception of happiness, the value of happiness, and true happiness. Happiness is always associated with cultural values. In fact, there is no such thing as a general happy school. A happy school is only truly true when the happiness in that school is consistent with positive values and standard values.
Third: It is necessary to know how to orient and create for students the way to solve problems in learning, to learn by themselves, to handle by themselves, to answer by themselves, which is to start leading students on the first step on the path to finding happiness in learning. Only when students have explored, learned by themselves, and solved by themselves, will they be interested and continue to search in a broader and deeper way, reasoning at a higher level, from the level of knowing, understanding, to deep understanding, reasoning, applying, generalizing...
As learners progress through any level, their interest and happiness increase. And when students cannot solve the problem, feel frustrated, frustrated, and want to release it… then teaching and learning support tools, or teachers who can help students solve the problem.
When removing those obstacles and obstacles, learners will feel relieved, sublimated, and they will feel happy. As Confucius once said about teaching: “If you are not yet frustrated because you are not clear, the teacher will not open your mind, if you do not find your own way, the teacher will not show you the way.” Teachers who know how to teach by raising problems, guiding and encouraging learners to solve problems themselves are profound professional factors that guide learners to find happiness and interest in learning…
Fourthly: Personal interpretation and deep thinking/encouraging reading culture, debate, respect for differences in the classroom, in the teaching process is the process of encouraging learners to express their own opinions and assessments, the spirit of self-learning. It is the teaching process that leads learners to the joy of the learning process itself.
Fifth: The personalized teaching method is a very good method to develop learners and can help learners find their own joy and interest in learning. This method aims to promote strengths and limit weaknesses of each individual learner, to have their own method, their own encouragement, their own assessment, their own support... Suitability and effectiveness for individuals is an important condition and the path to bring that individual to a state of happiness...

Sixth: Students need to use themselves as a standard to evaluate their progress and make comparisons. Students feel and evaluate their own progress… When they see themselves as better than yesterday, they will be happy.
Seventh: Having the right attitude and living a pure life, knowing how to care for others is the premise of true happiness…
Eighth: Learning goes hand in hand with practice, learning needs practice. Theory is always gray and difficult to arouse interest, it is necessary to closely combine learning with practice, learning from practice and in practice, practice and learning are inseparable. This process makes learners receive results from reality and they will feel the effectiveness of learning in a vivid and concrete way, this vividness will bring constant happiness and always in the learning process...
Ninth: Educational activities need to pay attention to developing emotional intelligence or emotional capacity, the ability to control and express emotions... This is education on how people can live happily, know how to create happiness for themselves and for everyone.

Tenth: In educational activities, teachers always listen, always understand, always share, which is very important to make students' learning interesting. A monk once said, happy teachers will change the world. Only happy people can create a happy world.
The workshop "Happiness in Education" brings together leading educational experts from the country and around the world to discuss and share skills and methods on structures and models to create a happy learning environment for students. In particular, it emphasizes training a generation of teachers with the capacity to create happy lessons, contributing to educational innovation and promoting comprehensive education in Vietnam./.
