(Baonghean.vn) - This afternoon (November 6), the National Assembly entered the session of questioning members of the Government. Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung answered the National Assembly deputies about the principles and purposes of the press. The Minister said that since 2018, he has used technology and developed tools to detect articles that are "posted in the morning and removed in the afternoon".
Responding to delegates' opinions on the principles and purposes of journalism,Minister of Information and CommunicationsNguyen Manh Hung said that the press agency is the mouthpiece of the press management agency, which is the agency and organization within the political organization system in Vietnam.
Each agency and organization has its own functions and tasks.press agencymust adhere to this function, task, or also known as the motto, purpose of propaganda, therefore, will draw a panoramic picture of Vietnamese society. Without the division of roles, it can be skewed to one side, skewed to the other, more in one place, less in another, and many economic and social issues will not be mentioned.

Minister Nguyen Manh Hung answered the National Assembly about the principles and purposes of the press. |
Focusing on activities according to principles and purposes helps the press write in-depth, which is what the press is currently weak at. This is Vietnam's approach that has been stipulated by law.
However, there are also opinions that implementing the principles and purposes will limit the rights of press agencies, especially in fighting negativity and corruption. I affirm that this does not limit those rights.
Recently, many journalists and press agencies have gone on assignments or have been assigned to do so in ways that are not in line with their principles, goals, and areas of expertise. This has caused difficulties for many agencies and organizations and affected the reputation and image of press agencies and journalists who are acting in accordance with the law.
The Ministry of Information and Communications has and will seriously handle press agencies that do not properly implement these principles and purposes.
Minister Nguyen Manh Hung added: Since 2018, the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Ministry of Information and Communications have used technology and developed tools to detect articles that are "posted in the morning and removed in the afternoon". They have reminded press agencies and requested explanations at weekly meetings, and handled them administratively or according to professional ethics regulations.
Currently, this phenomenon has decreased significantly, with only 1-2 cases having to be explained each week, but mainly due to editing errors that need to be corrected./.
