Minister Dinh La Thang inspects the progress of National Highway 1A section through Nghe An.

(Baonghean) - On the afternoon of July 8th, Comrade Dinh La Thang, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Minister of Transport, led a working group to inspect the progress of the construction of National Highway 1A section passing through Nghe An province. Accompanying the delegation were Comrades Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Huynh Thanh Dien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and leaders of the Nghe An Department of Transport.

The project to upgrade and expand National Highway 1A through Nghe An province spans 73.8 km, divided into 6 sub-projects and assigned to 5 different investor units. Nghe An completed the handover of the land to the construction units on April 15th. To date, all construction units have focused their manpower and machinery to accelerate progress, aiming to complete the project exceeding the volume set by the Ministry of Transport. As of now, some sections of the contract packages have completed the first and second phases of asphalt paving. It is estimated that the average construction progress for the entire route has reached over 60% of the total volume. In particular, the contract package managed by the Department of Transport, with a length of 23.4 km from Dien Chau to Quan Hanh, has reached over 80% completion.

Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang requested that contractors and construction units of the National Highway 1A upgrade project, section through Nghe An province, uphold a high sense of responsibility, concentrate vehicles, machinery, and equipment to accelerate the construction progress. At the same time, they must ensure traffic flow and environmental protection along the route. The goal is to have the National Highway 1A upgrade and expansion project in Nghe An province basically completed by October 31st of this year.
