Minister of Transport assigned as Secretary of Da Nang

The Politburo assigned Mr. Truong Quang Nghia to hold the position of Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee after Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh was dismissed.

On the morning of October 7, the decision of the Politburo to assign Mr. Truong Quang Nghia - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Transport, as Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee was announced at the Da Nang City Party Committee.

Yesterday afternoon, the Party Central Committee disciplined Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh by: removing him from the position of Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, member of the Standing Committee, member of the Da Nang City Party Executive Committee for the 2015-2020 term; and removing him from the position of member of the 12th Party Central Committee.

Mr. Truong Quang Nghia, 59 years old, from Quang Nam province, is currently the Minister of Transport.He isMaster of Business Administration,Member of the Party Central Committee, 11th and 12th terms14th National Assembly Delegate

Mr. Nghia has 16 years of service in the army and 16 years of experience in production and business at Vinaconex.

In May 2008, the Secretariat transferred Mr. Truong Quang Nghiaheld the position of Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee for the 2005-2010 term (in charge of building grassroots Party organizations)when he wasGeneral Director of Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation Vinaconex.

In September 2010, he was appointed as Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, then Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc. In June 2012, he was assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee.

In March 2015, the Politburo appointed Mr. Truong Quang Nghia as Deputy Head of the Central Economic Commission. During the National Assembly session in April 2016, Mr. Truong Quang Nghia was approved by the National Assembly to hold the position of Minister of Transport.
