What did the Italian Transport Minister say after the bridge collapse in Genoa?
Following the road bridge collapse in Genoa, Italian Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Danilo Toninelli announced that the board of Autostrade per l'Italia, the agency responsible for managing and maintaining the quality of the country's motorways, must resign.

"In a civilized country, it is impossible for people to die because of a collapsed bridge... Those guilty of this unforgivable tragedy must be punished," the Italian Minister of Transport and Infrastructure wrote on his personal Facebook page.
"We paid the most for the trip, and they only had to pay a ridiculous fee for the permit. They earn billions, but pay a few million in taxes, and don't even do the necessary maintenance work for roads and bridges," he continued.
The death toll from the Genoa motorway bridge collapse has risen to 35, authorities said. Among the dead were three children: an eight-year-old boy and two teenagers aged 12-13. Sixteen others were seriously injured.
