Israeli minister calls for restoration of “targeted assassination” policy
Israel's Culture and Sports Minister calls for the assassination of leaders of the Palestinian Islamist resistance movement Hamas.

"The math is simple. If our children live in fear, then the leaders of Hamas must also live in fear,"Jerusalem Post"We must return to the policy of targeted assassination of the leaders of this murderous terrorist group," Israeli Culture and Sports Minister Miri Regev said at a meeting with local leaders of Israeli communities near the Gaza Strip on August 10.
Her statementRegevThe statement came after the night of August 8, when Hamas launched more than 70 rockets from the Gaza Strip into Israel. Hamas controlled the Gaza Strip after a conflict with the Fatah movement in 2007. Since then, Israel has blockaded the area with measures such as restricting the import of fuel, goods, and banning fishing in response to frequent Palestinian attacks across the border.
Over the years, Israel has assassinated several senior Hamas members. The latest incident occurred in March 2017, when Israel assassinated Mazen Fuq.aha, shot 4 bullets in the head.
