British Defense Secretary Resigns Over Sexual Harassment Allegations
British Defense Secretary Michael Fallon resigned on November 1 after being suspected of sexual harassment, AFP reported.

According to AFP, in his resignation letter to Prime Minister Theresa May, Minister Michael Fallon said that his previous actions may not be commensurate with the high standards required in the position of Minister.
“Many of the allegations are untrue, but I acknowledge that I have acted in the past in a manner inconsistent with the high standards of the military. I have reflected on my position, and therefore, I hereby resign as Minister of Defense,” the resignation letter read.
Mr. Fallon, 65 years old, joined the British parliament in 1983 and became Defense Secretary in 2014.
A local media outlet last week quoted a source as saying that Mr. Fallon allegedly touched the thigh of a radio announcer in 2002.
The female reporter herself has ignored the incident, however British media said there will soon be more accusations against Mr. Fallon.
Since the sexual abuse scandals of famous Hollywood film producer Harvey Weinstein, more and more women and men working in the British Parliament have denounced the inappropriate behavior of MPs.
Prime Minister May has called a meeting with party leaders to discuss ways of dealing with the problem.
