On the afternoon of April 16th, General Phung Quang Thanh, Minister of National Defense, visited and encouraged officers and sailors of the submarine force preparing for overseas training at Training Center 125 (Military Technical Academy).

Assigning tasks to this force, General Phung Quang Thanh emphasized that submarines are a very modern type of weapon used by the military for the purpose of national defense. Therefore, the force selected from the outset must have a strong determination, must take advantage of all opportunities to study and thoroughly understand the structure, features, and functions... mastering the weapon and increasingly fulfilling the assigned tasks.

On this occasion, the General expressed his gratitude to the Party Committee, government, and people of Ho Chi Minh City for their concern and for donating 500 million VND to the submarine force undergoing training abroad.

On behalf of the leadership and command of the Navy, Rear Admiral Dinh Gia That promised Minister Thanh that they would actively monitor, direct, and create the most favorable conditions for the trainees to learn and acquire knowledge and skills to master new weapons and equipment, while also regularly paying attention to and caring for the lives of the families of the military personnel.

On behalf of the trainees, Major Nguyen Xuan Bach promised the Minister that they would continuously uphold the traditions of the heroic Vietnam People's Army and Navy, unite to overcome difficulties, study diligently, master their responsibilities and professional skills, become proficient in new weapons and equipment, fulfill the five requirements: "Study well, unite well, train well, discipline well, manage well," and abide by the laws of the host country, striving to excellently complete the assigned tasks.
