Military Region 4 Command organizes anti-terrorism drill
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 23, the Military Region 4 Command organized the 2018 anti-terrorism exercise with the theme: "The Military Region's anti-terrorism force attacks terrorist forces and rescues hostages".
Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Commander of the Military Region attended and directed the exercise; also attending were comrades in the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, the Military Region Command; leaders and commanders of a number of departments and agencies of the Military Region, the Military Command of the provinces: Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh.
The exercise was attended by nearly 400 officers and soldiers from agencies and units: Political Department; Military Region General Staff; Information Brigade 80, Engineering Brigade 414, Military Hospital 4, Military Region Logistics Department; Nghe An Police; Nghe An Military Command and students of the Faculty of National Defense and Security Education, Vinh University.

The exercise was conducted to simulate an attack on the terrorist forces occupying the N Province Radio and Television Station and to free the hostages. Upon receiving the request from N Province, the Commander of the Military Region reported and asked for the direction of the Ministry of National Defense, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, and the Military Region Command to decide to establish a light command post at the N Province Radio and Television Station, under the direct command of the Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Military Region.

Using forces including officers and soldiers: Civil Affairs, Special Forces, Reconnaissance, Electronic Warfare, Engineering, Chemical and Military Medicine to practice attacking terrorist forces and freeing hostages. The exercise was assessed by the Military Region's Exercise Steering Committee as a great success, achieving the set objectives and ensuring absolute safety.
