"Red River Quartet" appeared at the 2016 Devotion Music Awards

The music director of the 2016 Devotion Music Awards said that the “Red River Quartet” consisting of musicians Nguyen Cuong, Pho Duc Phuong, Duong Thu, and Tran Tien will be present at the Awards Ceremony to perform and share memories of the once vibrant music scene.

On the morning of April 14, the Organizing Committee of the 11th Devotion Music Awards 2016 held a vote with the participation of 100 journalists in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

This year, the awards have added a new category: Music Video of the Year, in addition to the 7 categories: Song of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Series of the Year, Show of the Year, Musician of the Year and Singer of the Year.

Responding to the program at the Award Ceremony, musician Hong Kien, in his role as Music Director, said that the performance program is a harmony as a link between the young generation and the previous generation in the development process of Vietnamese popular music in 2015. The program has the participation of artists who are nominated such as: Tung Duong, Tien Tien, Son Tung M-TP, Trong Hieu, Ai Phuong... The orchestra of the 11th Dedication Music Awards - 2016 shows the intersection of music genres such as electronic music, jazz, contemporary classical, pop. The song "April Comes" by musician Duong Thu was also used to open the program, but performed in the form of a concert.

The special feature of this year’s Awards Ceremony is the participation of the once-famous “Red River Quartet”, including musicians: Pho Duc Phuong, Nguyen Cuong, Duong Thu, Tran Tien. The musicians will share with the audience about a vibrant period of Vietnamese popular music.

The highlight of the award ceremony is the memorial service for musicians who have passed away recently, such as Thanh Tung, Tran Lap, Luong Minh, etc. Currently, the Organizing Committee is still keeping this honoring ceremony a secret. MC Anh Tuan and Miss Thu Huong will be the MCs.

Answering HNMO's question about this year's award-giving guests, journalist Huu Trinh, Deputy of the award's Organizing Committee, said that the guests will be people in the music industry, such as musicians, singers, arrangers, etc. There will be no appearance of beauties or models participating like in previous years.

The 11th Devotion Music Awards 2016 will take place at 8:00 p.m. on April 24, 2016 at the International Convention Center - FLC Sam Son Eco-tourism Resort Complex. The red carpet event, where famous artists gather, will take place before the awards ceremony (6:00 p.m.).
