Ngoc Trinh's revealing dress on May 19 in Cannes caused outrage and received much criticism from the public. |
On May 19, Ngoc Trinh attended the premiere of the movie "A Hidden Life" at the 72nd Cannes Film Festival in France with a revealing, offensive dress that caused a stir in public opinion.
Not only domestic media but many international news sites also believe that Ngoc Trinh dresses boldly and offensively to attract attention.
In response to public outrage, Nguyen Thai Binh, Chief of Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, also stated that Ngoc Trinh’s image was too offensive and inappropriate for Vietnamese culture. Even though it was an international event, Ngoc Trinh still participated as a Vietnamese, so that outfit was unacceptable and tarnished Vietnam’s image in front of international friends.
Besides, Mr. Nguyen Thai Binh also said that the Ministry did not send Ngoc Trinh to Cannes in any capacity.
Speaking further about the incident, Mr. Nguyen Thai Binh affirmed that through the way he responded to the media, Ngoc Trinh was aware of her outfit and thought that she was the queen of lingerie, so dressing like that was normal. Therefore, "I hope everyone will strongly condemn Ngoc Trinh's actions so that young people do not have a distorted view of such excessive confidence," Mr. Nguyen Thai Binh shared.
