According to the national press, Mr. Tran Anh Tu is facing the risk of losing all his seats at VPF after withdrawing from the race for the position of VFF Vice President of Finance for the 8th term.
Specifically, VFF President - Le Hung Dung signed the nomination of candidates for the VPF Board of Directors on November 30, 2017. 3 members of VFF were sent to VPF: Standing member Tran Anh Tu, General Secretary Le Hoai Anh, Deputy General Secretary - Dinh Thi Thu Trang. The capital representative for VFF at VPF is 35.4%. Accordingly, Tu ran for election at the VPF Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on December 3, 2017 and won the position of Chairman of the VPF Board of Directors.
A Vietnamese football official said that Mr. Tu's future at VPF depends on the members of the VFF Executive Committee of the 8th term, after Mr. Tu did not run for the position of VFF Vice President of Finance.
“Whether or not Mr. Tu will be the Chairman of the VPF Board of Directors after the 8th VFF Congress will be decided by the VFF Standing Committee. The Standing Committee will assign who will be the capital representative at VPF. In case Mr. Tu is no longer the capital representative of VFF at VPF, he will of course no longer be on the Board of Directors. However, Mr. Tu can be the General Director of VPF if the Board of Directors sees the need for his contribution in this role,” he shared.
