Mr. Pham Van Tac was accused of going to a spirit mediumship. |
On the afternoon of October 11, the Ministry of Health sent a document to the Central Propaganda Department and the Ministry of Information and Communications.
Accordingly, on October 10, the Ministry of Health received a petition from Mr. Nguyen Van Tac, Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel, reflecting on the October 9 publication of the Consumer Newspaper (under the Vietnam Association for Standards and Consumer Protection) of the article "Hầu đồng hoping for promotion: From religious rituals to transformations".
After studying the case and comparing it with current legal documents, the Ministry of Health stated that: Mr. Tac's organization of the ceremony at Bao Loc Temple to worship Duc Thanh Tran was a personal and family matter, unrelated to the work of the health sector. The ceremony took place on Saturday, a day off, outside of working hours according to state regulations.
Also according to the document of the Ministry of Health, the Consumer Newspaper previously had a number of articles reflecting on Comrade Tac's work on personnel and personnel activities without verification. This is being verified by the Ministry of Health's petition verification team without any conclusion, which is contrary to the law on complaints and denunciations.
Regarding the information reported by the press, the Ministry of Health hopes that the press will reflect truthfully and objectively in accordance with the provisions of the law, avoiding affecting the reputation and honor of individuals and the health sector for the purpose of protecting and improving people's health.
The Ministry of Health requested the Central Propaganda Department and the Ministry of Information and Communications, in their role as press managers, to direct press agencies to report truthfully and objectively on health sector issues and request Consumer Newspaper to provide accurate information.
In case Consumer Newspaper does not provide evidence to prove, we request the Central Propaganda Department and the Ministry of Information and Communications to strictly handle the case in accordance with the law to protect the legitimate interests of health sector officials and civil servants.
Previously, on October 10, Mr. Pham Van Tac said he had sent a petition to the authorities to clarify the information that he had gone to "prayer mediumship to pray for promotion", and at the same time requested the newspaper that published this information to personally apologize to him for providing false information.
