(Baonghean.vn) - A document from the Director of the Department of Maternal and Child Health, Ministry of Health, requests the Nghe An Department of Health to urgently report in detail on the case of pregnant woman Vo Thi Van and her unborn child dying at Dien Chau General Hospital.

As previously reported, at approximately 11:30 AM on March 8th, Ms. Vo Thi Van (born in 1985, residing in Hamlet 4, Dien Xuan, Dien Chau) was brought to Dien Chau District General Hospital by her family to give birth.

Dr. Tran Khac Tien, Director of Dien Chau General Hospital, said that they will investigate and take strict action if any mistakes are found in the team of doctors and nurses.

At 8:40 PM that same day, the pregnant woman experienced pain and showed signs of fatigue. Upon examination, the doctors found no uterine contractions and subsequently discovered that her uterus had ruptured.

Shortly afterward, the pregnant woman was taken to the operating room for a cesarean section. At 9:47 PM that same day, the mother passed away, and the fetus (a baby girl) had also died earlier.

On March 9th, immediately after receiving the information, Ms. Luu Thi Hong, Director of the Department of Maternal and Child Health, signed công văn (official letter) No. 1497/BYT-BM-TE gửi (sent to) the Nghe An Department of Health requesting a detailed report on the incident.

The Director instructed the Nghe An Department of Health to convene a professional council meeting soon to evaluate the process of receiving, monitoring, caring for, and treating pregnant woman Vo Thi Van at Dien Chau General Hospital, and to report to the Ministry before 12:00 PM on March 11th.
