Ministry of Health requests clarification on the case of mother and child death
(Baonghean.vn) - The official dispatch of the Director of the Department of Maternal and Child Health, Ministry of Health requested the Nghe An Department of Health to urgently report in detail the death of pregnant woman Vo Thi Van and her fetus at Dien Chau General Hospital.
As previously reported, at around 11:30 a.m. on March 8, Ms. Vo Thi Van (born in 1985, residing in Hamlet 4, Dien Xuan, Dien Chau) was taken by her family to Dien Chau District General Hospital to give birth.

At 8:40 p.m. the same day, the woman had pain and felt tired. Doctors examined her and found no uterine contractions. They later discovered that her uterus had ruptured.
Immediately after, the mother was taken to the operating table to remove the fetus. By 9:47 p.m. the same day, the mother had died, and the fetus (a baby girl) had also died before that.
Ngay trong ngày 9/3 sau khi nhận thông tin, Vụ trưởng Vụ sức khỏe bà mẹ trẻ em Lưu Thị Hồng đã ký công văn số 1497/BYT-BM-TE gửi Sở Y tế Nghệ An yêu cầu báo cáo rõ sự việc.
Vụ trưởng chỉ đạo Sở Y tế Nghệ An cần sớm họp hội đồng chuyên môn đánh giá về quá trình đón tiếp, theo dõi, chăm sóc và xử lý của BVĐK Diễn Châu đối với sản phụ Võ Thị Vân, báo cáo về Bộ trước 12h ngày 11/3.
