The Ministry of Health requests increased efforts in the examination, detection, and treatment of Covid-19 cases.
On May 19th, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management, Ministry of Health, issued Official Letter No. 708/KCB-NV regarding strengthening the work of examination, detection, and treatment of Covid-19 cases, addressed to hospitals under the Ministry of Health and the Departments of Health of provinces and cities.
The official document states: Currently, a number of cases have been recorded worldwide.Covid-19There has been an increase in some countries such as Brazil, the UK, Thailand, etc. In Vietnam, from the beginning of 2025 to the present, 148 scattered cases have been recorded.Covid-19in 27 provinces and cities, with no deaths reported.

To proactively respond to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management requests that directors of hospitals with inpatient beds under the Ministry of Health and directors of provincial and city health departments review and update their plans for admitting and treating Covid-19 patients based on the predicted pandemic situation, avoiding a passive and unprepared response.
Prepare the necessary facilities, isolation areas, medical equipment, and medical supplies to organize the reception, isolation, diagnosis, treatment, and infection control measures.
Strengthen infection control measures, especially respiratory infections, to minimize the spread of disease within healthcare facilities; implement solutions to ensure the safety of high-risk patients (such as pregnant women, patients with underlying conditions, severe illnesses, the elderly, etc.), and in intensive care, cardiology, hemodialysis, and surgery areas. Simultaneously, enhance external hygiene, hospital hygiene, and arrange departments and wards conveniently and appropriately to the epidemic situation, ensuring a green, clean, and aesthetically pleasing environment.
The Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management requests that hospitals, institutes, and Departments of Health strictly comply with the reporting of cases as stipulated in Circular 54/2015/TT-BYT dated December 28, 2015, issued by the Minister of Health.
