As of June 10, PC 45 Department of Lao Cai Provincial Police in coordination with Bat Xat District Police has arrested 7 subjects, including 2 cases of fugitives wanted for human trafficking and property theft...

On April 16, three female students of a high school in Bat Xat district, Sung Thi N, a 10th grader; Vu Thi S, a 11th grader; and Vang Thi S, a 10th grader, suddenly went missing...

Through initial screening, the Criminal Police Team of Bat Xat District Police determined that the victims were following a young man named Tua. Believing that the victims were likely tricked and sold abroad, Bat Xat District Police deployed forces to gather information.

During the screening process, Major Tran Xuan Dung, Captain of the Criminal Police Team of Bat Xat District Police (Lao Cai) and his teammates determined that Tua's real name is Sung A Tua (20 years old, residing in Trinh Tuong Commune, Bat Xat District). The subject is a vagrant young man, often running away from home, suspected of being involved in human trafficking abroad.

From this information, the Criminal Police Team of Bat Xat District Police coordinated with PC 45 Department of Lao Cai Provincial Police and the Border Guard to divide into many groups to follow Tua's journey.

The subjects in the case.

On the same day, at the border trail in Tan Quang village, Trinh Tuong commune, Bat Xat district, units of Lao Cai Provincial Police coordinated and arrested Tua, when this subject was trying to escape to China. In the initial struggle, Tua confessed:

While working at a snail restaurant in Lao Cai City, he met a young man named Thanh. Thanh asked Tua to find young girls to take to China to sell for money.

On April 15, Tua, Thanh and two other young men tricked three victims, Sung Thi N, a 10th grader; Vu Thi S, an 11th grader, and Vang Thi S, a 10th grader, into taking them to China to sell for 45,000 NDT.

After nearly 4 days of urgently collecting documents, the coordinating units determined that Thanh's full name is Sung Seo Thanh (19 years old, residing in Nam Mon commune).

The subjects involved in the trafficking of three female high school students include: Cu Seo Phung (23 years old) and Vang Seo Din (20 years old, both residing in Ngai So 2 village, Nam Mon commune, Bac Ha district, Lao Cai) and Thao A Tu (21 years old, residing in Dak RMang commune, Dak Glong district, Dak Nong province).

On April 20 and 21, the working group of the two units, under the direction of Colonel Hoang Manh Hung, Head of the Investigation Police Agency of Lao Cai Province, organized forces to divide into many groups to arrest the above 4 subjects. Among them, Thao A Tu was arrested while on the run to China.

On April 24, with the coordination of Lao Cai Provincial Police and Bat Xat Border Guard Station, one of the three victims of the human trafficking ring, Vang Thi S, was rescued and returned to Vietnam.

Based on S's testimony, PC 45 Department of Lao Cai Provincial Police continued to consolidate the case file against Thanh and Tu.

During the investigation, Thanh confessed that on April 17, he and Vang Seo Din also tricked and sold the victim Thao Thi D (17 years old, residing in Sa Pa, Lao Cai) to China to sell to a subject named Vang Seo Gia (23 years old, registered residence in Nan Ma commune, Xin Man district, Ha Giang), currently living in Ha Khau district, Hong Ha district, Yunnan province, China for 18 thousand NDT.

Subject Thao A Tu confessed that from November 2016 to February 2017, Tu, along with Vang Seo Gia and two other subjects, committed 4 cases, tricking and selling 4 women abroad. Participating in the tricking and selling of victim D was subject Thao A Vang (24 years old, living in village 6, Dak Glong district). Vang was a wanted fugitive for theft. After fleeing to Lao Cai, Vang met Thanh and began participating in the network. Vang was responsible for recruiting people... After having the "goods", he contacted Vang to deliver the people. The subjects successfully transported 7 women abroad.

Based on the collected documents, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Minh Thang, Deputy Head of PC 45 Department of Lao Cai Provincial Police, determined that this was a large-scale transnational human trafficking ring. In this ring, there was a strict division of labor among the subjects; in many stages from finding people to guiding and consuming.

Accordingly, Vang Seo Gia is the main consumer in China. On June 7, Lao Cai Provincial Police issued an arrest warrant for Gia and Vang.

The incident continues to be verified and clarified.
