AFC Cup 2014 Quarter-Final Draw: V.NB to face "the Barca of Hong Kong"
According to the draw for the 2014 AFC Cup quarter-finals, V. Ninh Binh will face Kitchee - "the Barca of Hong Kong", while V-League champions Hanoi T&T will face Erbil (Iraq).

Good news for Vietnamese fans: the two teamsHanoi T&T and V. Ninh Binh will not face each other early in the quarter-finals of the AFC Cup 2014.If both V-League representatives qualify for the next round, they will face each other in the semi-finals. However, to make that a reality, Hanoi T&T and V. Ninh Binh will have to overcome two very tough opponents: Erbil (Iraq) and Kitchee (Hong Kong, China).
Hanoi T&T, the reigning V-League champions, face Erbil in the semi-finals of the AFC Cup last season. However, Erbil also struggled to reach this stage, overcoming Nejmeh (Lebanon) 3-0 in a tense penalty shootout. Currently, Hanoi T&T's form in the domestic league is quite good (2 wins and 1 draw), and with the determination of each player, the chances for Coach Phan Thanh Hung's team to defeat Erbil and advance are very high.

Meanwhile, V. Ninh Binh faces a tough opponent in Kitchee from the Hong Kong (China) Premier League. The "Barca of Hong Kong" has won the domestic league title for three consecutive seasons and is currently the champion. The door to the semi-finals will be wide open for Coach Nguyen Van Sy's team if they perform well in the first leg at home (August 19th), and a win would be a huge advantage. The reason is that in the return match in Hong Kong, V. Ninh Binh's chances of getting a good result are very slim, as Kitchee has performed exceptionally well at home in the 2014 AFC Cup (3 wins, 1 draw).
The quarter-finals will be played over two legs on August 19th and August 26th to determine the four teams that will advance to the semi-finals.
