The Boeing C-17 landed at Noi Bai Airport (Hanoi) early this afternoon, carrying a Marine One helicopter.
At 1:00 p.m. on February 20, a Boeing C-17 Globemaster III heavy transport aircraft carrying vehicles, equipment, and a helicopter serving the US President landed at Noi Bai Airport.
After taxiing across the runway, the C-17 entered the front of the airport's hangar. Inside the hangar was a Marine One (VH-60N) helicopter with its wings removed.

According to the source, the VH-60N helicopter at Noi Bai Airport belongs to the HMX1 squadron. It is expected that upon landing, the crew of the HMX1 Helicopter Squadron will assemble the helicopter, start the engine, and let the propellers rotate on the parking lot. After that, the helicopter may take a practice flight to check.

Previously, on February 14, the first two US C-17 heavy military transport aircraft took off from Yokota Air Base in Japan, carrying equipment and cargo for the US-North Korea Summit scheduled to take place on February 27 and 28 in Hanoi, and also landed at Noi Bai Airport.
After unloading the cargo at the airport, the C-17A returned to base to continue its mission of transporting vehicles such as helicopters and the US President's private cars..

During the time of welcoming the delegation serving President Donald Trump, Noi Bai Airport was enhanced to level 1 security (the highest level of aviation security). More than 800 security and mobile airport personnel were on duty, checking inside and outside the airport.
According to a representative of Noi Bai Airport, although the entire airport has increased security controls, commercial flights are still operating normally, with no delays or cancellations.
The C-17 Globemaster III is a heavy military transport aircraft developed by McDonnell Douglas in the late 1980s for strategic and tactical transport purposes, allowing the delivery of US military equipment and troops to any location in the world, as well as the evacuation of wounded soldiers and the dropping of paratroopers.
In addition to military purposes, the C-17 transport aircraft is always the first choice for transporting necessary equipment for the US President on foreign trips, according to Air Force Technology.
The large payload allows the C-17 to easily transport the vehicles in the US President's motorcade, including two Cadillacs nicknamed "The Beast". The Marine One VH-3D or VH-60N helicopters are also carried by the C-17 during official trips, in case the US President cannot travel by road from the airport to the work site.
