Nurturing outstanding members for the Party - The noble and sacred mission of the Youth Union

On the afternoon of March 18, the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union organized a forum on "Training outstanding members for the Party - The noble and sacred mission of the Youth Union". Frankly acknowledge the existence

Building a strong Youth Union in terms of organization is one of the most important tasks, therefore, in recent years, Nghe An youth have effectively concretized the Party's policies and resolutions, thematic resolutions of the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union, the Executive Committee, and the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union. From there, step by step innovate the content and methods of operation of the Youth Union from the provincial to the grassroots level and improve the organizational capacity and political mettle of cadres and members in all aspects.

However, besides the achieved results, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Tran Linh also frankly pointed out the difficulties and limitations of this work at the forum.

Specifically, regarding union members, the current management of union members is not good, the procedures for admitting new union members in some places do not ensure the process and regulations. The application of information technology in union member management and in building a union member database system is still slow.

Regarding personnel work, the rotation of over-age union cadres according to the Youth Union Cadre Regulations faces many difficulties. A number of union cadres in residential areas are weak in skills and professional knowledge of youth work and lack enthusiasm. The team of union cadres also faces many difficulties in life due to low income, especially the team of union cadres at the commune level and secretaries of the block and hamlet youth union branches.

Regarding the work of building grassroots youth organizations, the content and form of youth branch activities and grassroots youth union activities are not attractive and have not really attracted young people. The work of uniting and gathering young people in non-state enterprises has encountered many difficulties and has not achieved clear results.

Regarding the work of the Youth Union in Party building, the number of excellent members admitted to the Party has not met the set target. Party development work in ethnic minority and religious areas and the Youth Union in private enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises is still low. Party development among youth union members is not commensurate with the scale and quality of excellent members and is uneven across regions and subjects.

From that situation, the forum focused on research and discussion to propose directions and solutions to implement tasks in the coming period.

Propose many practical solutions

There were 14 comments from delegates at the forum. Many of them proposed quality solutions to build a strong delegation in terms of politics, ideology, organization and action.

Representing the Provincial Agencies Bloc Youth Union, comrade Nguyen Cong Minh - Secretary of the Bloc Youth Union said that in order to do a good job of developing new party members from outstanding members in the Provincial Agencies Bloc, in addition to strictly complying with the regulations of the Party Charter and the instructions of the Youth Union organizations at all levels, it is necessary to ensure 5 factors including: "Scientificity", "Concretization", "Proactiveness", "Information", "Self-awareness". In which, self-awareness is an important premise for union members to have the right motivation, boldly express themselves, strive to join the Party's ranks; self-criticize, criticize, self-examine, and self-correct organizations and individuals.

Regarding finding solutions to build, consolidate and develop the Youth Union in the non-state sector, comrade Nguyen Ba Tuan Anh - Secretary of the Youth Union of the Enterprise Bloc has proposed 3 important solutions. In particular, focusing on assigning tasks to each comrade in the Executive Committee, grassroots Youth Union cadres to survey business units that currently have cooperative relationships with businesses that have affiliated Youth Union organizations, are located in neighboring areas or have a large youth force. This creates conditions for easier access to businesses, and at the same time quickly grasps the needs and thoughts of business owners compared to going directly to lobby.

Concluding the forum, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Le Van Luong proposed comprehensive solutions to improve the quality of union members' work; union cadre work, and grassroots union organization work. In particular, for the work of training and introducing outstanding union members for the Party to consider and admit, it is necessary to continue to deploy solutions to implement Directive No. 03 dated July 21, 2021 of the Central Youth Union Secretariat on "Strengthening the work of training and introducing outstanding union members for the Party to consider and admit" and activities to improve the effectiveness of the Campaign "Union members strive to become members of the Communist Party of Vietnam".

The Youth Union and the grassroots Youth Union must carry out well the process of training and introducing outstanding members to the Party, creating conditions and an environment for outstanding members to practice, making an important contribution to improving the quality of outstanding members to introduce to the Party for consideration of admission; at the same time, persevere and make efforts in each step and stage of the work of developing Party members from outstanding members.
