Stephen Chow's blockbuster 'The Mermaid' is preparing for part 2
The blockbuster hit The Mermaid by Hong Kong (China) comedy king Stephen Chow will have a sequel.
According to the latest list of film projects announced by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of China on March 22, the film Mermaid 2 is one of the registered projects.

This film project is registered for production by Lianrui Pictures, which is the major investor and distributor of the first Mermaid film.
To date, Stephen Chow's The Mermaid has grossed 3.39 billion won ($517.3 million) and become the highest-grossing Chinese film of all time.
