Four requests...

(Baonghean)I wholeheartedly agree with and welcome the discussion "The Need to Build a Workplace Culture" by author Tran Hong Co published in the Nghe An newspaper on April 1, 2014. To ensure the strict implementation of Directive 17 of the Provincial Party Committee, to strengthen administrative discipline and order, to promote administrative reform, and to enhance the public service ethics of cadres, civil servants, and public employees when interacting and working with the people, in addition to the insightful comments of author Tran Hong Co, I would like to add the following opinion: to create a comprehensive and beautiful workplace culture, cadres, civil servants, and public employees in state agencies, the "servants" of the people, need to implement the following "FOUR REQUESTS" criteria:

1. "Hello:"This is the first greeting that officials, civil servants, and public employees should use when interacting and working with the people. A very cultured greeting is essential: "Hello, sir/madam, hello, uncle/aunt, hello, brother/sister..." Our ancestors said: "A greeting is more valuable than a feast." People will be very happy to receive a greeting from those they need to meet and work with, creating a positive, friendly, and cordial relationship right from the start.

2. "Please listen and learn":When interacting with and handling matters for the people, officials and civil servants need to listen to and understand the work requirements that the people need addressed, listen to their thoughts, aspirations, and suggestions with an open mind, and sincerely accept their proposals and suggestions to perform their work more effectively.

3. "Thank you":Civil servants, public officials, and public employees should not forget to express gratitude when the people create favorable conditions for them to work effectively, and when they offer sincere feedback. They should remember to say "thank you" to the people for their cooperation and collaboration after resolving a matter. After expressing gratitude, both the host and the guest feel relieved, peaceful, and happy, which is crucial when interacting with the people.

4. "I'm sorry":In working relationships and dealing with the public, shortcomings and mistakes are sometimes unavoidable. When mistakes are made, it's necessary to apologize. A sincere apology reflects a person's cultural character, and after apologizing, we can work with and interact with the public in a better way…

So what do the people "ask" for from their "public servants"?

1. "Please work on time, according to schedule, at the right time, with the right people, and for the right tasks." This is a very important requirement of the people for those who perform their duties for the people. The people will be very dissatisfied when their "public servants" fail to fulfill this requirement.

2. "Please be cheerful, welcoming, friendly, dress politely, and speak respectfully to the people." This is an indispensable requirement for officials, civil servants, and public employees when interacting and working with the people, in order to create a beautiful workplace culture and a positive image and impression in the eyes of the people.

3. "Please resolve matters quickly and efficiently for the people, avoiding unnecessary inconvenience and difficulties." Always strive to create conditions to better serve the people and improve the quality of public service. This is an important standard for evaluating the competence of officials, civil servants, and public employees.

4. "Please do not be bureaucratic, indifferent, insensitive, arrogant, authoritarian, or harass the people." Carry out your work with a spirit of fairness, impartiality, and integrity…

I believe that with the above "FOUR REQUESTS" requirements and criteria, if officials, civil servants, and public employees seriously implement them, then the workplace culture will create a comprehensive beauty in line with the spirit of Directive 17 issued by the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee.
