Vietnam table tennis wins Southeast Asian men's team gold medal

Vietnamese tennis players caused a shock at the tournament held in Makassar (Indonesia) when they won the men's team event.

The 10th Southeast Asian Table Tennis Championship (SEATTA) took place from December 21 to December 24, with the participation of five teams: Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam. The teams competed in a round-robin format.

The Vietnamese team defeated Indonesia 3-0 in the opening match and then beat Thailand and Malaysia 3-1. In the final match against Singapore, the Vietnamese players won 3-2 and were crowned champions. The Vietnamese team participating in this tournament includes athletes Dinh Quang Linh, Doan Ba ​​Tuan Anh, Nguyen Anh Tu and Nguyen Duc Tuan and is led by coach Nguyen Nam Hai (Hanoi).

This is the biggest success of Vietnamese table tennis in many years. In addition to the men's team event, Vietnam also has players Mai Hoang My Trang, Nguyen Thi Nga and Nguyen Thi Viet Linh participating in the women's team event.
