Brazil: Girl 'beaten' for dragging shark ashore for photo
"Misfortune never comes singly" when a girl was bitten by a shark to the point of having to go to the hospital and was also fined.
A woman went to the beach in the Fernando de Noronha archipelago, Brazil and accidentally saw a small shark swimming near the shore. She immediately jumped in to catch the shark, brought it to shore to take a selfie.
Unfortunately for the girl, the shark bit her painfully and refused to let go. In the clip shared online, the girl tried every way to escape from the fierce shark's jaws but failed. Only when a friend of the female tourist helped did the girl escape. After that, the girl threw the shark back into the sea.

After learning about the incident, the police immediately went to the girl and her boyfriend and asked them to pay a total fine of 5,000 pounds (about 142 million VND). The reason they gave was that the couple had attacked animals.
The shark that was pulled ashore was a lemon shark and the beach is located in Marinho National Park, a nationally protected area where visitors are prohibited from capturing, disturbing or feeding any of the animals.
The bad luck did not stop there when the girl had to go to Sao Lucas hospital to get stitches in total with 4 stitches. Reader Joao Quinto commented when watching the clip: “What was the point of doing that? Posting it on Facebook? I hope the girl learned something about protecting the habitat of animals.”
Last year, a dolphin was dragged ashore in Argentina for a selfie. It died before it could be released back into the water.
