Recently, artist Vuong Rau accidentally revealed the salary of singer Dam Vinh Hung, causing a stir in public opinion. In response to the question of how much money he had to pay to invite Dam Vinh Hung, Vuong Rau shared: “Dam Vinh Hung is the singer with the highest salary today, even overseas singers are not as high. The salary I have to pay for singer Dam Vinh Hung is much larger than the number that the journalist just gave (160-180 million VND). Of course, for an artist like that, it is impossible to discuss the salary because it is worth it. It is an agreement between the producer and the artist, there is nothing to worry about.”
Besides, according to a major show producer in the US shared in 2017, the top performers are still Dam Vinh Hung, My Tam, Quang Dung, Le Quyen, Ho Ngoc Ha... Among them, the lowest price is 7,000 USD/show and the highest is 15,000 USD/show. For each tour, the singer will receive at least 3 shows and the average income is about 30,000 - 40,000 USD.
Phuong Thanh was once paid more than 1 billion VND for advertising.
In mid-October, singer Phuong Thanh also revealed that her advertising fee in 2001 was 100,000 USD, equivalent to 1.5 billion at that time (17 years ago, the exchange rate between the dollar and Vietnam was 15,000 VND). This number shocked many people because until now, few A-list stars have achieved what Phuong Thanh did nearly 2 decades ago.
Ngoc Anh's scandal of demanding a salary of 10,000 USD
In early 2018, musician Phu Quang suddenly "accused" singer Ngoc Anh 3A of lacking love when demanding a fee of up to 10,000 USD for his concert.
The author of “Em oi Ha Noi pho” said he respected the artist very much but would not let the artist “grab him by the neck”. Phu Quang said he bluntly replied to Ngoc Anh, “I will invite someone who is no less than you, but not at that price.”
The salary story between Phu Quang and Ngoc Anh has caused a stir in public opinion for a long time. Recently, when preparing for a new music night, musician Phu Quang brought up this controversy again.
Phu Quang said that despite being stressed about the fee, he still invited Ngoc Anh to sing at the end of December. However, because of the late invitation, she accepted a performance schedule abroad. “Actually, the story between Ngoc Anh and I was that the singer's assistant advised her to ask for a fee of 10,000 USD. I think that's too high. If I pay that fee to Ngoc Anh, what about the other singers? I told her straight up that I couldn't pay that price, because the price she was paying was already high, more than 100 million. Thanh Lam and Hong Nhung were only paid 70 million VND,” he said.
BTV Ngoc Trinh reveals income at VTV
In April 2018, public opinion was stirred when BTV Ngoc Trinh frankly shared that her income at VTV was about 20 - 25 million/month.
