Mine water bag platform, workers trapped at depth of -380 m
10 hours after the mine water bag burst, the trapped workers have not been rescued. Quang Ninh authorities are mobilizing many water pumping machines to search.
On the evening of October 7, authorities in Quang Ninh province mobilized forces to search for workers trapped in a water bag burst incident that occurred the same morning at the construction site of the No. 1 Underground Mine Construction Company belonging to the Nui Beo Coal Company's mining site in Ha Long City.
According to information from the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, the incident occurred at 11:30 a.m. the same day. At that time, a group of workers were constructing a ventilation tunnel for a pair of vertical wells at a depth of -380 when a water bag burst from the bottom of the main well.

Two of the three workers were lucky to escape. The remaining one, Do Minh Hai (23 years old, from Nam Dinh), was buried under a large amount of mud.
"We are using high-capacity pumps to pump out the mud and urgently search for and rescue the trapped workers. However, because the workers are trapped in a deep and narrow location, the rescue work is facing many difficulties," Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, Chief of Office of the No. 1 Underground Mine Construction Company, told Tien Phong.
Three weeks ago, a similar incident occurred at the Cao Thang mine of the Hon Gai Coal Company (Quang Ninh), trapping three workers.
More than 100 people, including police and local authorities, coordinated with workers and employees of the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group to organize rescue and fix the problem.
After more than 4 hours of searching, authorities brought 3 victims out. Two of them died.
