"Doodle" drawing with "huge" price

At first glance, the two sketchy paintings below could easily be mistaken for the work of an 8-year-old child. But in fact, their author is the late famous British artist LS Lowry.

These are two of the 10 sketches on paper by LS Lowry that were auctioned for a total of £177,375. According to Matthew Bradbury, Director of Bonhams Auction House, the two drawings, which were sold for £16,250, were made in 1973, three years before LS Lowry died of pneumonia at the age of 88.
