Buffon hopes to become the oldest person to win the Champions League
The Juventus captain wants to break the record for the oldest player to win the Champions League, set by Paolo Maldini after winning the Cup in 2007 with AC Milan.
Legend Paolo Maldini won the number one European title at the age of 38 years and 331 days. GianluigiBuffonwill be 39 years and 126 days old when this year's Champions League final takes place (June 3). If his JuventusDefeating Real Madrid, the Italian goalkeeper will replace his senior to hold this record.

The Champions League silver cup is also the title Buffon has lacked in more than 20 years of professional competition.
In addition to the record of being the oldest player to win the Champions League, the Italian veteran has another goal to aim for: the oldest player to ever play in a Champions League final. This record is currently held by Van der Sar when he played in the 2011 final with Man Utd, at the time he was 40 years and 211 days old.
If counting the period when the tournament was still called the C1 Cup, the oldest person to ever attend the final was the legendary Dino Zoff. He was the starting referee in Juventus' 0-1 loss to Hamburg in 1983 at the age of 41 years and 86 days./.
