Breakthrough for Nghe An 'amateur' football
(Baonghean.vn) - Originating from the need to compete in organized 'street' football matches on a professional and systematic scale, the Fairplay 2017 Intermediate Football Tournament was officially launched for the first time.
The 2017 Fairplay Intermediate Football Tournament includes 16 intermediate teams, not including teams playing in the First Division as well as Vinh League, organized by Nghe An Amateur Football Association. True to its name "Fairplay", the tournament's requirements are to be beautiful, honest and professional.

The teams are divided into 4 groups, competing in a round robin to select the 8 teams that are the first and second in each group to enter the knockout round. The competition will be conducted according to the rules of the amateur tournament. In particular, the matches at the Fairplay 2017 Intermediate Football Tournament will be Livestreamed and commented by the top amateur football commentators in Vietnam.
The tournament has the participation of national referees under the direction of the Head of the tournament's refereeing board, Mr. Tran Duy Khanh. The tournament's organizers said that this is considered a foundation tournament, directing Nghe An amateur football towards professionalism like the HPL playground in Hanoi, the tournament has created a lot of buzz and is an annual destination for fans.

Speaking at the drawing ceremony, Mr. Dang Hung Dung, the owner of FC Dimori Sport with the nickname Phong Cules - Head of the tournament's Organizing Committee, said: "Currently, in Nghe An, there are hundreds of large and small amateur football clubs. Every year, dozens of football tournaments take place that attract the attention of a large number of viewers such as Vinh League, Vinh First Division, Football Tournament for Civil Party Agencies; Football Tournament for Enterprises; Vinh First Division Amateur Tournament; Student Football Tournament; Youth - Children's Football Tournament of Nghe An Newspaper Cup, etc.
However, a common playground for players like the Fairplay Intermediate Football Tournament is extremely necessary for Nghe An grassroots football, receiving high support from players at this time."
The Fairplay 2017 Intermediate Football Tournament will take place from December 16 at Hung Phuc artificial turf stadium, Vinh City. According to the draw results, the opening match will be between FC City Men and FC Calorsure. The quarter-finals will take place on January 6, the semi-finals on January 13 and the final on January 21, 2017.
